Sue Morgan Tutoring offers a large variety of services. With patience and
motivation, each student receives individualized instruction. Whether it is a
student struggling with an academic challenge, a person needing to learn
English or pass specific tests, or learners needing to maintain honor roll
grades, services are available in all these areas.
Instruction is multi-sensory. It may be any combination of seeing, hearing,
touching, writing, and speaking. These methods, based on intensive
research, are the most effective for teaching and learning.
Currently, the students are home schooled and attend both public and private
schools. Students come for instruction in all areas of language arts. These
include reading, spelling, grammar, writing, and literature. Some have
unique learning differences. These include, but are not limited to dyslexia,
ADHD, and ADD. Some children are attending school with an IEP
(individual educational plan which is legally binding in the public system.)
Several students are below grade level while others are consistently on the
honor roll. Students come for tutoring to remediate, maintain, and/or enrich
their educational experiences. Also, students are here for math, social
studies, science, and handwriting.
The classroom fosters an environment with a caring approach to learning.
The classroom features a lending library, a reading area, a porcelain
chalkboard, a bulletin board, a custom-built table, and many resources for
multi-sensory instruction. Every student has their own notebook which
contains their lessons, materials, and/or items of interest. There are
opportunities to use a variety of techniques and to move about when
necessary.
Time, personal attention, and genuine interest are hallmarks of Sue Morgan
Tutoring.
